We all know the rule is to brush our teeth daily. It is recommended that we brush our teeth 2 times a day with a fluoridated tooth paste and a soft bristled brush. Most of us are on autopilot when we are brushing and tend not to think about our technique which is actually quite important.
Effective brushing removes the soft plaque and food from our teeth. If this is not removed thoroughly with brushing and flossing, the remaining plaque/food turns acidic to the teeth thus forming decay.
Brushing correctly also keeps your gums happy and healthy and your breath fresh!
The Australian Dental Association has made the following video to show us the correct technique for brushing. Not only is this great for us adults, but this can be very useful when teaching/showing children how to brush correctly.
