Why is accreditation important?
Accreditation is not actually a legal requirement for private dental practices. We already have very strict health guidelines and law regulations to comply with. However, accreditation means that our team has voluntarily committed to continual assessment and improvement of practice procedures. In short, our practice is continually improving and must maintain the strictest of standards.
What is involved in accreditation?
Our dental practice had to meet the first six of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. We then had to complete all of the appropriate documentation (practice policies and procedures etc). We then sent this to an independent accreditation agency. Once assessed we were award the accreditation.
