Dr Christie Lee

Originally from South Korea, Christie immigrated to Australia from the US when she was 12 years old and grew up in Brisbane where she received her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland with Honours. Since then, she has gained experience from various positions in the public sector and private practice in the Sunshine Coast hinterland before joining the team at Ipswich Dental Care.

Christie strongly believes in working together with her patients to achieve their desired oral health goals by taking her time to understand their needs.

Her primary focus is to always provide dental treatment in a gentle and caring manner. She has had valuable experiences working with dental phobic patients and helped them overcome their fear to achieve their goals. She finds great reward when her patients leave the clinic with a big smile.

Christie is particularly interested in the restorative side of dentistry, including fixed prosthodontics. She is passionate about providing only the necessary treatment with long-term goal of helping her patients keep their teeth for life.

Christie also enjoys seeing patients of all ages, including children. She understands their need and communicates in a manner they will understand.  Creating a positive dental experience for children is her main focus, as this help create good oral health behavior for life.

Outside of clinic, Christie enjoys spending time with her two dogs- Jelly the pug and Beanie the labrador. Also, as a self-claimed foodie, she loves going on little food adventures with her friends.

Oral Health Therapist –  Kathleen Vu

Kathleen completed her Bachelor of Oral Health degree at the University of Queensland in 2013. She has had some experience working in the public sector but has predominantly been working in private surgeries in which she enjoys seeing patients of all ages.

As an Oral Health Therapist, Kathleen works with the dentists at Ipswich Dental Care to identify any factors in patient’s lifestyle and habits that can have a negative contribution to their own oral health which can put them at risk of dental caries and gum disease. She will give advice and instructions on how to prevent these oral diseases from occurring.

She enjoys seeing children and teenagers up to the age of 18 years old for their dental exams, clean and restorative work. Her specialty for patients over this age is her gentle but thorough scale cleans at their active maintenance visits. She can also change wires and elastics for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment.

Kathleen aims to make sure patients leave her surgery looking forward to their next visit with her. She takes the time to connect with  patients and makes sure they are comfortable during the treatment.
She has treated very nervous children and adults and over time have seen them change their dental perception to a positive one.
She likes to make the children’s visits interactive, fun and interesting for a positive dental attitude to resonate through adulthood.

Kathleen enjoys spending her weekends with her young family out and about and baking delicious treats.
