Here at Ipswich Dental Care, we strive to do things differently to make your appointments as comfortable as possible. Gone are the days of the “scary” dental appointments – things can be done a lot easier, quicker and more comfortably than ever before!
We know that going the extra mile for our patients can make all of the difference to their experience here with us. For this reason we have added comforts that we can provide for our patients.
From the moment you walk in, we want you to feel at ease. In our dental rooms, we have televisions on the ceiling with a large menu of viewing options available through Netfilx. Anything from the kiddies shows, to tv series, documentaries and movies – this can really help our patients zone out and keep occupied through out their appointment.
We also offer blankets, pillows and frequent stops throughout your time here just to keep you comfortable and in control of your appointment. We never like to rush our appointments and always allocate adequate lengths for your trips here in order to go at each individuals pace.
Another great option for patients who may like to “take the edge” off things, is our use of “Happy Gas” (Nitrous Oxide). This is great for people that may be a little anxious and is also beneficial for people who may require longer appointment times. In some cases, the happy gas can be great for assisting children with their appointments also. The Happy Gas is very safe and is inhaled through the nose using a soft mask. Although you remain awake throughout the duration of the appointment, it really does just give that peaceful calmative affect. The best part it is, the happy gas wears off within minutes allowing you to get back on with your day immediately after care!
For those people who wish to be asleep through out their dental treatment, we do offer a General Anesthetic session. This means that you are asleep for the duration of the time that we treat you and you wake up at the end, with your treatment completed! Dr David Chen has one general anesthetic session a month at the Ipswich Day Hospital.
So if you, or anyone you know is concerned or worried about trips to the dentist – send them our way. We love to take care of our patients and are happy to do whatever we can to make sure they are given the best of patient care!
